Gillian's Wonderland Pier has been the most popular attraction on the famous Ocean City Boardwalk since the 1930s. It is the bigger of the two amusement piers on the boardwalk, and is most recognized by its giant 138-foot-high Ferris wheel. This renowned Pier offers 38 rides to choose from, suitable for all ages. While true thrill-seekers may be disappointed by a majority of tame rides, families will undoubtedly find plenty of amusement.
Highlights of the Pier include the upside-down rollercoaster, The Twister, and the illuminated Ferris wheel, a colossal attraction that can be seen from across the bay along the shores of the mainland. Also popular is the antique Carousel, complete with an old-fashioned ring dispenser. Gillian's offers many other amusements, including a baseball pitching cage, a house of mirrors, bumper cars, the Nascar Speedway, several snack bars and more.
Besides visiting the grandparents at the shore, the next best thing would have to be going to the Wonderland Pier. As a younger adult, I spent my summers working at the pier.
