Playland Park joins Gillian's Wonderland Pier as the two amusement parks on the famed Ocean City Boardwalk. Playland is geared toward families and does not offer much in the way of thrilling rides. The park does feature an upside-down rollercoaster, but ride time is too short, not to mention the lack of steep descents. Playland is always expanding and upgrading, though it is still not as large as the 38-ride Wonderland Pier. However, the park may serve you just right if you need a place to hang out with the kids awhile.
My family and I frequent the Ocean City boardwalk every spring and summer and the one place we rarely miss is Playland Park. Although it lacks the size of say the Wonderland Pier, many of the rides and entertainment here are more geared to the smaller children.
