Resorts Atlantic City was the first casino to be established in Atlantic City, but don't hold that against them. Resorts is redefined with the addition of Nikki Beach Atlantic City and Penrod's Elbo Room, hot beachfront clubs straight from Miami. Along with Gallagher's steakhouse from NYC, Resorts is importing some big names to go along with last year's facelift. Major renovations in 2004 added 14,00 feet of gaming and a new hotel tower which claims to have the largest standard rooms in Atlantic City. Other improvements include a new porte-cochere entrance leading to a lobby area that connects both hotel towers, a lounge overlooking the casino, and new exterior lighting to highlight the building's art deco façade. The gaming hall offers 100,000 square feet of light, bright and airy casino space, with 200 art-deco style chandeliers and neon lighting fixtures. The dazzling chandeliers are surrounded by star-shaped lighting elements wrapped in neon bands of yellow and blue, enhanced by rows of golden globe lights. Slot machines in denominations from a penny to $100 are available. Table games include Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette, Mini-Baccarat, Craps, Pai Gow, Pai Gow Tiles and Caribbean Stud Poker. The Superstar Theater has hosted performers such as Engelbert Humperdinck and Whoopi Goldberg in the past, but headline entertainment is an area in which Resorts is really kicking up the volume. They kicked off 2005 with a terrific Snoop Dogg show that the city is still talking about. Keep an eye on Resorts' entertainment calendar, who knows what could be coming next? If you're in the mood for a chuckle, check out the Improv Comedy Club on the Dining level. Also on the dining level is Resorts' Zagat award-winning restaurant, Capriccio, one of the finest restaurants in the city.
