"What has been said before in other reviews is true. The place is dingy. At least the bathrooms were clean, though. However, my pillows were not I found yellow stains on two of them.
Also, the complaints about waiting for a room are true. We arrived at 5pm with the Sands policy of check-in at 4pm. There were no non-smoking rooms per their systems and when one would open was up to housekeeping who apparently were too busy cleaning to return the front-desk calls about when one would open. To make matters worse, the front desk people couldn't care less. They said it was a "request." I remember making a RESERVATION. A RESERVATION means there is a room waiting on me per my RESERVATION. After being told to wait an hour and check our bags with the bellman, we asked about a late check-out to make up for the LATE check-in. The front desk person did not think twice about saying "No." Funny thing is, when we left promptly at check-out (12pm) the cleaning staff were doing the room next door. Hmmmm, does it really take 5 - 6 hours to clean up rooms? The hotel isn't new, so they must have some idea of how they are inconveniencing their soon to be ex-cusomters. It amazes me how poor they were in this respect. To make things more fun, once we got our keys, we went to the now gone bellman station. The only thing there was a professionally-made plastic sign of gold and black letters that referred us back to the front-desk. How sweet. And the front desk said "We don't know anything about that sign, he'll be back in a minute." Wonderful. So we wait for the bellman to arrive. We wasted over a hour and a half on this useless and needless hassle... and the front desk didn't care!
Upon leaving there was a 15 minute wait for the valet to pull the car around. So, there we were standing in the same area as thouse just coming in, those waiting for the keys, those waiting to check-in and some others waiting on their cars. Plus the lobby is postage stamp small. Also, their gaming area is disappointing small too. I guess for the number of people there on July 5th, there were plenty of slots and video poker machines, but the rest of the area was tiny. We paid $95 for 1 night."
