"Superior service and great specials keep my family coming back on our yearly summer week's visit to Ocean City. We eat out 6 nights.. 3 at least, at the Anchorage.Always enjoy an ice cold beer at the bar after a sun and surf fun packed day. Looking forward to next year as we speak. DF"
"I visited the Anchorage last summer and although, from how packed it was, it appeared to be a very popular place, I was very disappointed. I went for dinner. Asked for a table in the dining room, and was told 30 minutes. The older lady there was very rude in how she took the reservation right from the beginning. As I sat with my father for an hour I went and asked the women if we were close to being seated. In a curt tone, she said as soon as one was available. I sat and watched as people who came in well after me, and placed in-house reservations were seated before me. Well after an hour and 20 minutes, and not many options to leave without resorting to McDonalds, I was seated. The food was decent, but for the prices, again, I was very disappointed.
The only saving grace was that the waitress I had was a wonderfully bubbly girl, who realized my frustration and tried to deal with it the best she could.
After dinner, I went to the bar. I will have to admit there were many attractive young ladies found wondering throughout the bar area, however, the bar area get's so crowded it's difficult to even stand and be comfortable.
My only though is that the place definately had a lot of action and I would give it a try just on the basis of that, the nice waitress and the good looking women. As far as the older woman taking seating requests, I think it's time to retire. "
"My husband, my son and I have been eating at the Anchorage for about 10 years. We drive down on the spur of the moment and even make frequent trips during the winter just to eat there. You can either sit inside in the dining room or sit on the front porch with a view of the bay. They have a little bit of everything on the menu from burgers to seafood. You can select from sandwiches to a full dinner menu. In all the years we have been going, we have not once had a bad meal or even bad service. In fact, we have even gotten friends of ours hooked on this place and now they go down just to eat at the Anchorage. It does get crowded from Thurs. to Sun. so you may have to wait. But, we find the wait well worth it."
