Smitty's Clam Bar is one of the true treasures of Somers Point. Only open during the summer months, Smitty's offers fresh seafood at terrific prices. The clam chowder is out of this world, as are the simple dishes such as fried shrimp and clam strips. The atmosphere of this bayside restaurant is very casual, making it great for families. The restaurant is BYOB, so it's also a great place to bring a six-pack, eat some delicious food and watch the sunset. The only problem with Smitty's is the wait- now that the secret is out, a 30-40 minute wait even during the week is not unusual. Reservations are not accepted, so be prepared to wait.
I live down the street from this place & the food is great. The wait is really long & hot since you have to wait outside. They should let the area residents have a shorter wait. Other than that you gotta have the steamers. ....Click Here for the full review
