Located on the mainland in Somers Point, Di Orio's offers a unique balance between dance club and local pub. During the week one might enter Di Orio's and find themselves in a pub-like atmosphere with jocular locals chatting around the main bar, rock & roll sounding from the jukebox, dinner plates showing evidence of chicken wings or a roast beef sandwich strewn about, waiters and waitresses mingling in the fun, etc.
Enter the same place on a weekend night, or perhaps even during the week when there is a special event, and find yourself caught up in a pulsating club-like atmosphere---young twenty-somethings bouncing and gyrating on the dance floor, patrons three rows back crowding both bars, perhaps a DJ spinning house or club music (which is barely loud enough to drown out all the clamor of countless singles under the influence), the pool table stacked with the quarters of those awaiting their turn for a game, so on and so forth.
Di Orio's is a local favorite known for its unusual crowd---a mix of young and old, blue collar and white collar, pillars of the community and visiting college students, those of wealth and stature and those who couldn't care less about social status or anything else for that matter---we all fit in here. Open 2pm-3am. $5 cover charge after 10pm on weekends.
